Introduction
The CV Joint boots should be inspected every 15,000 miles.
Tools
- Jack Stands
- Floor Jack
Procedure
- Raise the rear of the vehicle on jack stands.
- Inspect the CV Joint Boots for signs of cracking.
- Squeeze the CV Joint Boots and inspect for signs of grease leaking from the boot.
- If the boot shows signs of deep cracking (i.e. more than 1 mm) OR if there is any leakage from cracks in the boot, it should be replaced.
