Introduction

The CV Joint boots should be inspected every 15,000 miles.

Tools

  • Jack Stands
  • Floor Jack

Procedure

  1. Raise the rear of the vehicle on jack stands.
  2. Inspect the CV Joint Boots for signs of cracking.
  3. Squeeze the CV Joint Boots and inspect for signs of grease leaking from the boot.
  4. If the boot shows signs of deep cracking (i.e. more than 1 mm) OR if there is any leakage from cracks in the boot, it should be replaced.
